If you attend the December DevCare event, you can walk away with a free licensed copy of Visual Studio 2008 professional. Session three of the upcoming event on Monday December 10 (which is not the normal day of the month (or week) for the DevCare events) is a Visual Studio 2008 Install-Fest. According to the DevCare site, every person that installs Visual Studio 2008 on their computer at the event will receive a free licensed copy "in the mail shortly after public release." While I find this last statement confusing since the public release of Visual Studio 2008 was last week, the part about a free license seems to be clear. If you're interested in developing with Visual Studio 2008, this is a great way to get a free copy. See you there.
